III. DISCUSSION OF 2026 WORK SESSION TOPICS
A. STATE-MANDATED AND COMPREHENSIVE REVIEWS
• Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Updates
o Amendments required to align with updated State code
o Statutory implementation deadline: October 2026
• Critical Area Comprehensive Review
o Required 10-year review cycle
o Last comprehensive review approved January 2016
o Scope to include:
▪ New climate change requirements
▪ New equity and environmental justice requirements
▪ Consideration of repeal and replacement with the most recent State model law
B. ZONING ORDINANCE AND DESIGN STANDARDS
