Re: Water and Wastewater Plant Full-Service Operator – Award of Bid Proposal
Date: April 13, 2023
An invitation for bid was requested from the Department of Public Works for a three (3) year
service contract for a Plant Operator Service for our Water and Wastewater Plants. Bid packages
were made available on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. There was one (1) company that attended
the mandatory on-site pre-bid meeting held on Friday, March 17, 2023. The invitation for bid
was closed and submitted bids were read publicly on Friday, March 31, 2023. There was one (1)
company who submitted a proposal. MES was contacted to base a comparison with the proposal
that was received, as well as comparing an option to maintain operating internally.
Staff recommends the award to Susquehanna for $406,000.00 for the first year; meeting is
scheduled to negotiate the starting of negotiations for the base start price.
PROPOSED MOTION:
I MAKE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE WATER AND WASTEWATER PLANT FULL-SERVICE
OPERATOR PROPOSAL TO SUSQUEHANNA OPERATIONAL SERVICES, FOR THE INITIAL THREE (3)
