MEMORANDUM
April 13, 2023
TO: Town Council of Centreville

RE: Centreville Wharf Docking Additions
The Town of Centreville received a grant in the amount of $87,000 from the Department of
Natural Resources, Waterway Improvement Fund for upgrades to the Centreville Wharf boat
slips. These improvements included the completion of water, electric, and lighting, as well as,
repairs to the finger piers and re-decking of the dock. After the completion of these
improvements, the remaining funds in the grant is $36,945.44. At the January 5, 2023 meeting,
the Town Council was in favor of the installation of additional boat slips to use part of the
remaining funds.
On March 10, 2023 an Invitation for Bids was advertised for licensed marine contractors to
install two (2) finger piers to establish four (4) new slips adjacent to the current Town slips. On
April 6, 2023, two (2) Invitation to Bids were received by Town staff and opened at 1:00 p.m.
The following bids were received:
Staff recommends Big Island Ventures in the amount of $22,250 to complete the installation of
two (2) fingers piers which will allow four (4) additional slips to be installed at the Centreville
Wharf.
PROPOSED MOTION:
I MAKE A MOTION TO APPROVE BIG ISLAND VENTURES TO INSTALL TWO FINGER
PIERS AT THE CENTREVILLE WHARF IN THE AMOUNT, NOT TO EXCEED, $22,250.
