At the June 16, 2021 meeting the Centreville Planning Commission approved prior meeting minutes and forwarded a proposed zoning text amendment on accessory buildings to Town Council that sets a minimum 3-foot side/rear setback for structures up to 12 feet tall, adds 2 feet of horizontal setback for each foot of height above 12 feet (to a 20-foot maximum), measures building height at the midpoint between eave and ridge, and requires a native-species evergreen buffer planting plan for buildings 15 feet or taller. The Commission also reviewed a preliminary draft of the Comprehensive Plan Land Use chapter with minor text edits and noted Commissioner Joe Cichocki announced his resignation effective that evening.
