Planning Commission — 2022-02-02

This was the Centreville Planning Commission work session on February 2, 2022 where Chair Darren Brown announced he will resign effective after the February 16 regular meeting and no citizens spoke. The Commission reviewed the draft Comprehensive Plan Chapter IV (Natural Environment) presented by Town Planner Chris Jakubiak — covering the Corsica River and tributaries, stream buffers, wetlands, FEMA 100-year floodplain, steep slopes, and forests; commissioners asked for maps showing specific Wetlands/Steep Slopes/Forests areas, Jakubiak said he contacted the Critical Area Commission for an official map and recommended modernizing Critical Area and Forest Conservation regulations, improving floodplain management and enforcing buffers, and noted coordination with County/State/Federal agencies; the plan takes effect upon Town Council approval.
