The Planning Commission approved prior minutes, noted Town Planner Chris Jakubiak will leave for Annapolis at the end of August, and discussed the zoning classification for Drapers (liquor store vs. convenience store vs. restaurant/take‑out), noting use could be determined by sales percentages and size limits. The Commission also reviewed many specific edits to the Draft Comprehensive Plan — updating maps and 2020 Census data, adding parks/master plan and park design guidance, new wastewater/annexation language, water system details (two operating wells and three storage tanks of 200,000, 300,000 and 100,000 gallons), Fair Housing text, and household projections — voted to hold a special meeting on August 2, 2023, and noted the Town Council would consider ordinances on a plastic bag ban, electronic signs, and indoor agriculture on July 20.
