At the May 19, 2022 Town Council meeting the Council approved the May 5 minutes and held public hearings on Ordinance 08-2022 (FY2023 budget) and a growth allocation request for the Carter Farm Traditional Neighborhood Development. The Carter Farm presenters described a proposed 126-unit development requesting just over 40 acres of the Town’s growth allocation (44.7 acres are within Town limits of a 46.8-acre parcel), with about 21 acres of open space including the “Yellow Bank Stream Trail,” a commercial area fronting Chesterfield Avenue, required buffer management, and stormwater measures meeting a 10% reduction rule; citizens raised concerns about tax revenue, lack of Carter Farm information on the Town website, and sewer capacity, and one resident spoke in opposition to the FY2023 budget hearing (which was then adjourned).
