Town Council — 2024-08-01

The Council received a Rural Maryland Grant update (original award $500,000 for laboratory, UV disinfection, and influent screening projects; the original deadline was missed but a $200,000 extension was secured for the laboratory building) and approved Resolution 15-2024 (On Call Policy) for a 60-day trial pending legal review and field validation. Council also agreed to schedule public hearings on Ordinance 08-2024 (Temporary Moratorium) and Ordinance 09-2024 (Cannabis Provisions) for September 19, and heard department reports on Rt. 213 work, 105 N. Liberty roof/repairs, the October 7 election filing deadline, and ongoing police investigations and Lexipol training.
