The Board of County Commissioners met April 14, 2026, beginning with a closed session to consult with counsel and discuss land acquisition, then held public hearings on the county’s 10-year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan and proposed ordinances including County Ordinance No. 25-12 (growth allocation in Resource Conservation Areas), No. 26-01 (red light cameras) and No. 26-02 (speed monitoring systems). They also considered Amendment 11-26 to the 2011 Comprehensive Water and Sewerage Plan, held tax set-off hearings with incorporated towns, received presentations on Character Counts and a temporary building moratorium, and reviewed Department of Public Works items including the Sudlersville Foxx Farm allocation request and a proposed FY27 sewerage and water rate increase plus several new business items (CREP agreement, housing bond transfer, aviation obstruction variance, etc.).
